Suttle Lake entices visitors with its sparkling blue water and remote location. Although located along a major Oregon route, the lake sits below the highway nestled in the Deschutes National Forest. Suttle Lake is home to several camps, a campground, and the Lodge at Suttle Lake. Guests escape to Suttle Lake for relaxation along the lakeshore and forest.

The Lodge at Suttle Lake

With close proximity to Hoodoo Ski Resort Area, Mt. Bachelor, Bend, Sisters and all the excitement of Central Oregon, the Lodge at Suttle Lake is an excellent lodging option. The lodge offers a variety of options for accommodations and packages. Accommodation options include:

  • 3 Historic cabins
  • 5 Waterfront cabins
  • 6 Rustic cabins
  • 11 Lodge suites

History and Accommodations

Throughout recent history, the lodge has been either threatened or destroyed by fire. Three lodges at the site, built from the 1920s-1940s were destroyed by fire in 1974. The remnants of the most recent wildfire can be seen at Suttle Lake, as the area is surrounded by blackened trees.

Potential lodge guests can book stays in a variety of ways, including several package options. Packages include a “Dinner for Two Package” or “Romance Package” or several other special deals. The Lodge offers on-site dining at Boathouse Restaurant, a stone fireplace in the Great Room of Lodge, Suttle Lake views, full-service kitchens, and waterfront cabins. Lodge amenities include complimentary cookies, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available all day in the lodge. A Wine Social occurs every evening at the lodge for guests. Other amenities include wireless internet, robes, DVD players in all Lodge rooms, and more. Amenities vary for cabins and lodge suites.

The Lodge at Suttle Lake is a great place for a wedding ceremony, offering a variety of wedding packages. Wedding packages include food, drinks, location, and other services. Most of the cabins are pet-friendly, with an additional charge.

The Boathouse Restaurant features fine dining with spectacular views of Suttle Lake. Guests enjoy delicious meals, like Dungeness crab cakes, wild salmon, and other NW dishes at the Boathouse, as well as Northwest wine and beer selections from the bar. The Boathouse Restaurant is open daily for reservations.

Spa Options at Suttle Lake

The Lodge at Suttle Lake also operates a spa available for guests and by reservation. Spa treatments include facials, body wraps, massage, and more relaxation options. Massages can be customized for the individual. Packages are also available for special occasions such as birthdays, bridal and groom, or “Queen for the Day”. Advanced reservations are recommended for spa appointments.

Suttle Lake and Central Oregon Activities

Activities at Suttle Lake include wildlife viewing, hiking, fishing, and much more. Area activities include golfing, fly fishing, hiking, skiing, and other winter sports, and shopping. Winter ski packages are available for winter stays. Fishing equipment may be rented from the lodge. The lake has an excellent population of kokanee and brown trout.

Suttle Lake is located off of Highway 20, just 15 miles west of Sisters. The lake is just west of the Santiam Summit.
