Pacific City is an excellent locale along the Oregon Coast, where guests get away from crowds. The quaint town offers guests several restaurants, galleries, and lodging options. The Inn at Cape Kiwanda is an excellent accommodation option located just steps from the beach and the Pelican Pub & Brewery.

The Inn at Cape Kiwanda

The Inn at Cape Kiwanda offers guests a great place to stay along the Oregon Coast. With 35 ocean view rooms, guests can enjoy the sights of the beach without even leaving their rooms. Each room comes with a fireplace, private ocean view deck, pillow-top beds, Starbucks coffee, high-speed wireless Internet access and located just feet from the beach. Many of the rooms are pet friendly and the facility is smoke-free. The Inn at Cape Kiwanda offers several jacuzzi suites with ocean view jacuzzi tub rooms. Special packages with dining options are available from the Inn.

The Inn at Cape Kiwanda facility includes several street-level shops: the Stimulus Espresso Cafe and Rowboat Gallery. There is also a gift shop and exercise room located within the Inn at Cape Kiwanda building. The inn is a great place to host a wedding, conference, family reunion or another special event. The Pelican Pub & Brewery located just across the street offers an oceanfront event and meeting area right along the beach.

What to Do in Pacific City

As the beach is the main attraction for visitors to the Oregon Coast, the beach at Pacific City offers an excellent, pristine, expanse of sandy beach. Located just across the road from the Inn at Cape Kiwanda is a beach access site that allows for motor vehicles on the beach and has a large parking area. Just to the north lies a huge sand cliff where adventurous visitors can run or slide down.

The Cape Kiwanda area is an excellent place to hike, photograph Haystack Rock, go beachcombing, view crashing waves and sea life, or even watch surfers catch a wave. Pacific City hosts an annual longboard surfing competition. When the surf is right, surfers call Pacific City a favorite surf spot. The Dory Fleet can also be seen launching their boats from the beach.

Guests at the Inn at Cape Kiwanda can purchase bags of bunny food at the gift shop to feed the beach bunnies roaming around the inn grounds. The bunnies are tame and will eat right out of a hand if food is offered. The beach bunnies can be fun to watch as they play or just rest in the grass.

Directions and Information

Pacific City is located between Lincoln City and Tillamook on the Three Capes Scenic Loop, off Highway 101. The drove to Pacific City from Portland is about 2 hours or 1.5 hours from Salem. The Three Capes Scenic Loop continues past Pacific City with viewpoints at Cape Mears and Oceanside before looping back towards Tillamook.
