The Annual Celebration of Culture, Located Just West of Eugene

Join jugglers, musicians, artisans, and performers for unique fun at the annual Oregon Country Fair in Veneta this July. All ages welcome and don’t forget your costume!

This year the Oregon Country Fair celebrates its 39th celebration of culture, music, and art in Veneta, just west of Eugene, Oregon. The three-day festival runs from July 11-13th. Tickets for the event are on sale now.

Since 1969, the 280-acre site located just west of Eugene has hosted the Oregon Country Fair. With attendance at 45,000 for the three-day event, a fair is a popular event in mid-July. Flower children, old and new hippies, and even modern-day yuppies flock to the festival, from all across the country. According to the fair, it “creates events and experiences that nourish the spirit, explore living artfully and authentically on Earth, and transform culture in magical, joyous and healthy ways.”

With over 50 food booths, over 700 artisans, various music and performance stages, the Oregon Country Fair boasts something for everyone, of all ages. Artisans showcase jewelry, furniture, artwork, pottery, glass-blown works, masks, and many other handmade arts and crafts items. Performers include belly dancers, vaudevillians, jugglers, tightrope walkers and more. Musical performances include rock n roll, folk, choir singers, drumming, and other styles. Children enjoy the play structure, face painting and other intriguing events.

The Oregon Country Fair is operated with conservation in mind. Fair events are fueled by 100 percent Biodiesel, renewable fuel derived from vegetable oil. Through a partnership with Eugene BioSource, the festival employs these “green” and renewable options. The Oregon Country Fair features events and booths on alternative energy education, such as solar, wind and hydropower, organic gardening and agriculture research and recycling.

The Oregon Country Fair Organization

The Oregon Country Fair is a non-profit organization, promoting land stewardship, arts and education and philanthropy. The land where the festival is held is owned by the organization. The land includes its own water system, recycling system, and more. The Oregon Country Fair also hosts Culture Jam, an event for youth, in August.
